Hi there,
I am so glad you are here.
I am Samantha. I am a school teacher, mom, nature lover and adventure seeker. I’ve been teaching for 20 years…wow, where did the time go? I’ve taught almost every subject from grade 2 all the way to high school and even adult education. I currently teach middle years students, and absolutely love the spunkiness of preteen kids!
When I am not teaching at school, I am busy being mom to a 6-year old boy who loves spending time outside, getting dirty, being active and adventurous, but also slowing down to exercise his creative side doing crafts and various types of art. I also like to stay active, and you can often find me getting active somewhere in nature paddling on our local rivers, or running or biking single track trails. When I slow down, I enjoy drawing, painting, writing and creating.
I am here to offer ideas for activities that will not only be fun, but will provide ample learning opportunities for young minds and bodies.
Whether you are a teacher, an early childhood educator, a homeschooling parent, a parent looking to supplement your child’s remote learning programs, or a mom or dad looking for some fun learning activities to occupy your kids, I aim to provide you with some ideas or materials that you can use.
A little disclaimer, some of my ideas may be messy, they may be dirty, or they may have you collecting odd things when you are out on nature hikes. My dining room table doubles as an arts and craft table, we often have more sticks and rocks in our house than my husband would like, and I have carried a deer leg home on my bike all in the name of science and learning.
